Aboriginal and torres strait islander students accounted for 6.6% of all students.
In 2023 there were 264,395 aboriginal and torres strait islander students enrolled in australian schools, making up 6.5% of the total school population.11 table 2.8 shows the number and proportion of aboriginal and torres strait islander students by school level and state and territory.
